That’s a huge win! 105 points is the margin, with 13 different Hawks kicking goals!

The Rundown

It was a demolition job at the MCG in round seven last year, with Hawthorn belting Melbourne to the tune of 105 points.

The Demons kicked the first two goals of the match but the Hawks led for the rest of the afternoon, piling on 24 goals (including 23 of the next 26) thanks to 13 different goal kickers.

It was a chance for some of Hawthorn's younger players to shine, with Jonathon Ceglar, Will Langford and Billy Hartung all enjoying solid performances.

The Star

Jarryd Roughead was simply dominant all over the ground. Not only did he kick four goals, but he also collected 30 disposals, ten marks and at the end of the season, three Brownlow votes.

The Moment

After taking a mark on centre wing, Cyril Rioli sprinted away and after two running bounces, slotted Hawthorn’s seventh goal of the day.

The Coach

“We take some confidence out of today’s game because our consistency of effort and application was there.” – Alastair Clarkson
