HAWTHORN had two players leading key statistical areas across the competition at the end of Round 12.

Not disposal tallies and clearance counts, but arguably even more important areas.

Pressure and goalkicking accuracy.

In-and-under midfielder Liam Shiels leads the competition for pressure, according to Champion Data.

Shiels’ score of 76 is significantly ahead of any other player in the competition.

Adelaide’s Rory Sloane (60.4), St Kilda’s Jack Steven (60.1), Brisbane Lions’ Dayne Zorko (57.9) and North Melbourne’s Andrew Swallow (57.5) round out the top five.

In terms of goalkicking accuracy, star small forward Cyril Rioli stands at the top of the table.

Rioli’s rating of 22.3 per cent sees him place ahead of Collingwood’s Alex Fasolo (21.9 per cent) and West Coast’s Josh Hill (19.9 per cent).

Fellow Hawk Jack Gunston ranks fourth, with a rating of 14.3 per cent.

Hawthorn didn’t have any players inside the top 10 across the competition for kicking, however two players narrowly missed the cut – both defenders.

Champion Data’s measurement takes into account the amount of pressure the kicker is under and the difficulty of the kick.

Josh Gibson was the best of the Hawks, with a rating of 7.7 per cent, followed by Grant Birchall with a rating of 7.1 per cent. Midfielder Billy Hartung rounded out the Hawks’ top three, with a ranking of 5.6 per cent.
