Assistant Coach Luke Beveridge will depart Hawthorn at the end of the season after accepting a position with St Kilda Football Club.

Beveridge has accepted the position of Director of Coaching at the Saints for season 2015.

Arriving at Hawthorn in 2011, Beveridge has overseen the Club’s backline and was a valued member of the coaching group that led the side to premiership success in 2013.

Hawthorn GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan said the Club was disappointed to be farewelling a coach of Beveridge’s credentials.

“Luke’s been a fantastic contributor to our coaching team over the past three years, he’s developed great relationships with the playing group and has established a backline that’s well respected across the league,” Fagan said.

“Despite having offered Luke a contract to remain at the Club beyond 2014, we understand his aspirations to step into a more senior role and this position at St Kilda allows him to do so.”

Beveridge will continue in his role as Hawthorn assistant coach until the end of the 2014 season.

“Luke is an integral part of our 2014 campaign, he has a job to do with our backline and will see it out until the end of the season,” Fagan said.
