PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Hamish Hartlett has been given a one-week suspension for striking Bradley Hill in Saturday night’s blockbuster at Adelaide Oval.

Hartlett struck Hill behind the play in the second quarter of Hawthorn’s loss, which resulted in the Hawks wingman to leave the ground and be assessed by Club doctors.

The Power midfielder will miss his side’s match against Melbourne this weekend.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report supplied from Hawthorn, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point), resulting in a classification of a Level Two Offence and 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

Due to an existing bad record, the penalty was increased by 20 per cent to 150 points and a one-match ban.

He also has 43.75 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 193.75 points and a one-match sanction.

If he accepts an early plea, the sanction is reduced by 25 per cent to 145.31 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
