The annual Australia Post AFL Community Camp sees the entire Hawks squad split up into 11 groups and spread across the state of Tasmania. For three days of community activities between Saturday 22 February and Monday 24 February.

Below is a run down of the final day.

Launceston

On the final day of Community Camp, the groups in Launceston visited a range of schools, with Jarryd Roughead, Mitch Hallahan and Derick Wanganeen visiting St Helens District High. There, they conducted a Q&A with students from years 6-8 before the students set up some challenges including who could kick a footy closest to a basketball ring.

The group then headed to St Mary's, where 95 children took part in some footy drills with the players on the oval at the school before quizzing the boys on their sleeping and eating habits so they could learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Josh Gibson, Matt Suckling, Bradley Hill and Jonathon Ceglar headed to Evandale Primary School, where Suckling, one of the best kicks at the Club and in the game taught the kids how to kick a footy. In the afternoon, they travelled to 25mins out of Launceston to Longford Primary School to meet the grade 5 and 6 classes and present to students the importance of exercise, healthy eating and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Gibson led the way and gave the kids a great insight into life as an elite athlete and how much dedication and training is required to make it the highest level.

In another group, Sam Mitchell, Sam Grimley, Kurt Heatherley and Angus Litherland ventured to Punchbowl Primary School to conduct a clinic with approximately 70 children aged between 6-11, while Liam Shiels, Jack Gunston, Ben McEvoy and Kyle Cheney headed to Australia Post to meet up with a school group from Norwood Primary School.

The selection of children from grades 2-6 were present to promote the donation of boots to the community before they took the opportunity to have their photo taken with their favourite players and some autographs.

Hobart

To finish off Community Camp for another year, groups based in Hobart also made their way to a number of different schools. Grant Birchall, Taylor Duryea, Dayle Garlett and Zac Webster visited Tasman District School and conducted a clinic with the primary school kids before heading over to the high school to take part in a cooking class thanks to Tassal.

The players helped the Year 7 class cook up four beautiful fresh Tassal whole salmon to be accompanied with a healthy salad and baked potatoes - all of which they enjoyed as a group afterwards.

Strahan Primary School kicked off the final day for Brian Lake, Brendan Whitecross and Shem Tatupu, where they went around to all three classrooms of the school to talk about how to live a healthy lifestyle, focusing on diet, sleep and exercise. The group then headed to another small school, Zeehan Primary, to conduct a small clinic inside the basketball courts.
