HAWTHORN has added to its midfield depth for Saturday’s Round 6 clash against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium, by including Brad Sewell and Jonathan Simpkin to its team.

Sewell has missed three weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the Round 2 win over West Coast, but has recovered to take his place in the side that will travel to Adelaide on Friday.

The Club took a cautious approach with the 29 year old’s recovery, making sure he was 100 per cent fit before naming him in the side.

Recruit Simpkin will add to Alastair Clarkson’s midfield depth when he makes his debut for the Club.

The former Cat was recruited to the Club as a Free Agent, after being cut by Geelong on October.

He has impressed his new teammates and coaches throughout the pre-season with solid form on the training track and excellent displays of skill and aggression around the ball during each of the pre-season games and for the VFL affiliate, Box Hill.

The Hawks will of course be without Cyril Rioli until after the bye, after he injured his hamstring in the 3-point win over North Melbourne last Sunday while Shave Savage has been omitted.
