Take a walk down memory lane with Club Legend Leigh Matthews in his exclusive and uncut interview with Lehmo and Dec on Hawks-Cast.

The seven-time Peter Crimmins medallist takes Hawks fans on a journey of his playing days, reminiscing about the personalities and impact famous coaches John Kennedy Snr, David Parkin and Allan Jeans had on his career in the VFL/AFL as a player and coach.

“They’re three of the icons in the AFL coaching world,” Matthews said.

“I’ve been reflecting back on things in the early part of my life, and sometimes it’s only now that I realise what great influences those men were.”

Matthews also discloses which, of the three coaches had the greatest impact on him as a player and then as coach.

He also pays tribute to close friend Peter Knights, and reflects on the great players he had the pleasure to play alongside - including Club Legend Peter Hudson.

Plus, Matthews reveals that he is in the process of writing an autobiography.
