Essendon v Hawthorn
Saturday 25 March, 7.25pm, MCG

TV: Seven

This weekend’s match against Essendon is a member replacement game.

The AFL have advised only 13,000 seats remain for tomorrow night’s match. To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend members and fans secure a reserved seat through Ticketek on 132 849 or at Hawthorn members please be aware, although this match is a replacement game, General Admission entry is subject to capacity, which means you must upgrade to a reserved seat through Ticketek to guarantee entry. Members who hold a replacement game reserved seat do not need to take any action.

What is a 'replacement game'?

With Hawthorn playing four of eleven home games in Tasmania, the Club has nominated Melbourne-based away games in Rounds 1, 7, 9 and 20 as general-admission replacement games for Hawthorn members with this entitlement.  Members with replacement game entitlements will receive general admission only. General-admission access is strictly subject to capacity. Home game reserved seats will not be accessible for these matches.

Replacement game reserved seat members
Melbourne-based reserved seating members have the option to upgrade to a replacement game reserved seat for all four replacement games. Replacement game reserved seats are separate from home game reserved seats.

Scratch & Win With Hawka

Keep an eye out for Hawka around the ground and you could win some great prizes including;

Connect to MCG WiFi to win!

We will be attempting to set a new record for most people connected to our WIFi network at the same time and we need your help. Be connected during half-time to be counted and you could win a great prize!

Hawks fans attending Saturday night’s blockbuster round one clash between Hawthorn and Essendon at the MCG are being urged to connect to the stadium’s WiFi to help set a new MCG record.

With a crowd of more than 80,000 expected, the MCC is hoping to get more than 17,000 people connected to the WiFi network at once – bettering the stadium’s previous mark set during the 2016 finals series.

Fans simply need to connect to the free WiFi when they arrive at the MCG and make sure they are still connected during the half-time break for the chance to win the ultimate Brazil v Argentina soccer experience for them and three friends.

With the unique event almost already a sell-out, the tickets, which include access to an exclusive cocktail function, are the ultimate money can’t buy experience for sporting fans.

How do I ensure that I’m connected during half-time?
1. If you haven’t registered for MCG WiFi this AFL season, turn on WiFi in settings, select MCG FREE WIFI, and enter your details to connect.
2. If you’ve already registered for MCG WiFi, make sure you check that your WIFI is turned on and MCG FREE WIFI is selected when you enter the stadium.
3. Check that you are still connected to the MCG WiFi at the half time break.
