Sunday is Funday as kids get in to the footy for free! Following on from the successful launch of Sunday Funday in 2015, the AFL is pleased to announce that kids General Admission is once again free in 2017.

Free general admission tickets are available to children under the age of 15 and can be purchased in advance, which will be subject to the ticket agent transaction fee, or will be available on match day at the box office where no additional fees will be incurred (excluding Adelaide Oval).

Hawka’s Family Frenzy

Our lovable mascot ‘Hawka’ has introduced a new match day competition in 2017. Hawka’s Family Frenzy will see two families compete head-to-head on the hallowed MCG turf.

The family left standing after our Round 23 match against the Western Bulldogs will take home a cash prize of $5000 plus a complimentary 2018 Legends Club membership!

Our undefeated family the Wheelhouse family is ready for the semi-finals at our Round 15 Game against Collingwood. Facing a new challenger, the Hall family on July 2nd, 2017. Will the Wheelhouse family be able to continue as the reigning champions of Hawka Family Frenzy and score a position in the finals or will the Hall family be able to claim victory?  

Hawthorn Flag Wavers

Your dream of standing on the MCG in front of 50,000 screaming fans as the mighty Hawks run out has come true.

Our match day Flag Wavers are our very own 2017 Hawthorn members. Showing their pride and support of the team at all our home games this season!

Guard of Honour

Come one, come all with your biggest and best Hawthorn spirit for a chance to be selected and participate in the Hawthorn Guard of Honour.

The Woolworths AFL Playground is back for the 2017 Season!

Before the game, make sure you swing by for a visit. You can find the Woolworths AFL Playground outside Gate 6 at the MCG:

With all of your favourite activities including the Woolworths Specky, Climb and Slide and other different interactions available, the Playground is fun for the whole family.

So, come test your skills, interact with your friends and most importantly have loads of fun at the Woolworths AFL Playground in 2017.

HawksNest have spread their wings across the MCG – you can now Buy Club Direct at any outlet at the MCG to ensure your money stays with the Club.

Come shop at the largest stockists of Hawthorn on field and supporter merchandise anywhere.

Outlets outside the ground will be between Gates 1&2, Gates 2&3, Gates 3&4 and Gates 4&5. You can also shop inside the venue on level 1 inside Gate 1, Gate 2, Gate 3, and the MCG Shop.

Reserved seat holders

The Round 15 match against Collingwood is a home game for the Hawks. All Hawthorn reserved seat holders (except Tasmanian members) have guaranteed entry to the MCG.

The Cheersquad will be sitting in bay M3 of the Southern Stand.

General Admission Members

Members with general admission access are not guaranteed entry to the MCG. Members can guarantee their entry through one of the following options:

Purchasing membership on match-day

Hawks fans can purchase membership on match day and receive entry to the MCG. Our match-day hub will be located outside gate 3 from 1pm.

Purchasing membership prior to match-day – avoid the queues!
Cards will be mailed to all members who sign up before 5pm, Monday 26 June. VIC supporters who sign up after this date, will have their card available for collection at the Hawks Club Hub located outside gate 3.

Cards that are not collected at the game will be posted out on Monday 3 July.

Members collecting membership cards are strongly advised to arrive early to avoid last-minute queues.

The Club will not be able to issue entry tickets to members who forget to bring their membership card to the MCG.

There are two train stations close to the MCG. Jolimont station is located north of the ground and runs on the Hurstbridge or Epping lines. Richmond station, located south of the ground, runs on Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston or Sandringham lines. If you’re coming from outside Melbourne, V/Line services will take you to Southern Cross Station.


Route 246 is run by National Bus Company, links LaTrobe University with Elsternwick Station and useful for visitors travelling from the northern and southern suburbs.
