Across the entire season, Sewell finished second at the Hawks to Mitchell in clearances, contested possessions and tackles, the duo driving their team’s in-and-under efforts. His tally of 13 Brownlow votes was equal with his All-Australian nominated 2009 season and lower only than his total in the premiership year of 2008.
