Was flying through the pre-season before suffering a groin complaint that delayed by half a season plans for him to become a full-time midfielder. Returned in round two with his trademark brilliance around goal and, once he regained full fitness, added speed and grunt to the Hawk engine room. Missed two games because of suspension, then tore his hamstring in the elimination final loss to Fremantle. Had the third most inside 50s for the Hawks and finished fourth in the best and fairest.

Draft history: 2007 NAB AFL Draft 1st round selection (Hawthorn) No. 12 overall.
