Hawthorn Football Club has broken their Tasmanian membership record of 7,259 members, with 7,338 Tassie Hawks members signed-up as of today.
The record-breaking effort will go a long way to help the Club achieve its target of 10,000 Tassie Hawks members in 2010.
Hawthorn Chief Executive Stuart Fox is thrilled with the achievement expressing his thanks to those members who have signed up and says the Club is now eyeing off its next milestone.
“This is a great achievement by our Tassie members and we encourage all our supporters to get on board for what promises to be another exciting year for the Club,” said Fox.
“1,721 of these are new members in Tassie and it is great to have them on board. However, this means that 1,700 members from 2009 are yet to renew, and this is their chance to show their true colours and get behind the Club in 2010.”
“This year Tassie members make up 16% of the total Hawks membership base, which is up 3% from last season. This is a great achievement by our Tassie supporters.
“We have four exciting fixtures at Aurora Stadium in 2010, starting with the ANZAC Day clash against the Roos, so for those who haven’t signed on yet there is no better time to secure your membership to see the Hawks fly-high this year.”
“I know how grateful the coach and the playing group are for the great support they get from our members in Tassie and how important our ‘home ground’ advantage is at Aurora.”
“A football club is built on its members and we are building a proud tradition in Tasmania. So we ask all Hawks supporters to get on board and help the Club achieve its target of 10,000 Tassie members.”
