The Tassie Hawks in Schools program, brought to you by the Tasmanian Government, sees every primary school across Tasmania receive footballs and netballs to encourage physical activity in the school yard.

Thanks to Bupa, every single student across the state also now has access to the Tassie Hawks in Schools eWorkbook online, with fun and exciting activities that encourage healthy lifestyles as well as some great educational components as devised by the Tasmanian Education department.

On the first of each month, there will be a new page of activities available, so make sure you log on regularly to find out what’s new.

There are also some great prizes to win through competitions in the eWorkbook, so make sure you send your entries in to the Club.



The Bupa Hawks Express has set out once again in 2011 to visit ten selected Tasmanian Primary Schools. This year Move Well Eat Well have been involved, the lucky schools chosen are all Move Well Eat Well registered schools.

The 2011 Tassie Hawks In Schools program aims to encourage all Tasmanian school children to have fun being active and Healthy.  All 226 primary schools across Tasmania will receive a free sports kit containing three Netballs, three Footballs a Pump and Sports Bag as part of a joint initiative by Hawthorn Football Club, Tasmanian Government, Move Well Eat Well and BUPA.

All primary schools also have access to the Active Kids eWorkbook online, Developed in conjunction with the Tasmanian Department of Education, Move Well Eat Well and leading health insurer Bupa, the eWorkbook provides fun and engaging content detailing some key educational, sporting and health related information for Primary School Children.

The Bupa Hawks Express covered all regions of the state, each school has a brief report on the visit below.  Fourth year Human Movement Students at the University of Tasmania assisted with the delivery of our Hawks in Schools programs. The Active Kids eWorkbook was demonstrated in all of our ten school visits, see the workbooks as above.
