Membership Terms and Conditions

Purchase of Membership

If you are successful in your application for membership, the Club will send you an acceptance letter confirming your membership and membership benefits in January 2009 or if purchased after this date, approx 14 days after date of receipt.

Hawthorn Football Club will not:

(a)    process any form that is incomplete

(b)    accept any changes to the application form (except for change of mailing address, change of circumstances, or any other information that could affect your membership - concession card status, etc.)

Hawthorn Football Club reserves the right to not accept any application form in its absolute discretion. The Club also reserves the right to cancel a membership without refund to any member that breeches these terms and conditions.

Membership Terms


All memberships are subject the following terms and conditions:

(a)    The membership card remains the property of HFC. Membership cards may not be sold, exploited for commercial use, or used for promotional purposes or campaigns without the express written permission of Hawthorn Football Club.

(b)    All memberships purchased with Hawthorn Football Club are strictly non-transferable.

(c)    All Hawthorn Football Club home games are strictly subject to capacity for General Admission members.

(d)    Reserved Seat members from 2008 have priority to their current seat for the 2009 season until 15 December 2008. After this date, reserved seats can not be guaranteed.

(e)    If we are unable to meet your request for membership category or seating allocation, we will contact you to discuss further options. Please note, payment of membership must be made at time of receipt of application form by Hawthorn Football Club. If request of membership category can not be met, Hawthorn Football Club will honour a refund.

(f)    To qualify for a concession membership, you must be the holder of one of the following forms of identification and produce this at the time of purchase and at the gate: Pension Card - Aged, Single Parent or Disability, Veteran Affair Card, Full-time Student Card.

(g)    Access to the Lindsay Hassett Room (for eligible members) on match day will be solely through the presentation of your membership card. If you can not produce your 2009 Kennedy Club membership card, you will not be granted admittance.

(h)    Access to the Medallist Bar and Atrium Bar (for eligible members) on match day will be solely though the presentation of your membership card. If you can not produce your 2009 Gold membership card, you will not be granted admittance.

(i)    All MCC Associate & MCC Supporter members must quote their MCC membership number when purchasing/renewing their Hawthorn Football Club membership.

(j)    All 2009 cheersquad members must also be members of the Hawthorn Football Club in 2009.

(k)    The Club can not accept responsibility whatsoever for membership cards that are lost, stolen or destroyed. Lost membership cards should be reported immediately to the Membership Department on 1300 042 957. Upon written confirmation that the card has been lost, a replacement will be issued at the cost of $10 per card. Cards can not be replaced on game day.

(l)    Any person seeking a refund must do so in writing, addressed to the Membership Manager. By doing so, the member's request will be taken in to consideration, however they are not guaranteed a refund.

(m)    Members are required to notify the club of any change in circumstance, including the issuing or withdrawal of concession status; member contact details; or any relevant information that could affect their membership Hawthorn Football Club   

(n)    All membership fulfillment; including member only loyalty scarf, is strictly limited. There will be no re-ordering should all stock be depleted.

(o)    Christmas 15 December promotion - PUMA caps will be sent out in January with fulfillment. Once stock runs out, it cannot be re-ordered. Cap, merchandise voucher and Christmas card are a strictly limited offer for members who purchase their membership prior to 15 December 2008.

(p) Seating areas at the MCG and Aurora Stadium are subject to change, these are made upon consultation with the venue. The club will endeavor to advise all members of these changes.

(q)  All Junior Rioli and Baby Hawk members will receive a birthday card within a week of the birthdate registered with the club. The birthday card promotion for 2009 members runs from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009.

2009 Finals Series

All Hawthorn Football Club members (including 4-game and 5-game and 1-game members) are given the opportunity to purchase a ticket during the first three weeks of the finals series (Week 1 - Qualifying & Elimination Finals, Week 2 - Semi Finals & Week 3 - Preliminary Finals).  
Matches at the MCG are administered by the AFL with the core advantage to the Hawthorn Football Club members being a two-day priority access period for the opportunity to purchase ticket/s to the game before the general public. This priority access period is also extended to the members of the other competing club.
Neither the club nor its members have the same rights as they receive for Home & Away games - 2009 reserved seat members will be unable to retain their current reserved seat for the finals series.

Grand Final Priority


Grand Final tickets for participating Clubs are limited and allocation is determined by a priority listing. The order of priority for those members who hold an 11-game or 16-game membership is as follows:

Priority One    11-game & 16-game Kennedy Club, Gold Interstate, Hudson Club Gold, Gold & MCC Associate members

Priority Two    11-game & 16-game Silver members

Priority Three    11-game & 16-game General Admission & AFL Silver Club Support members

Priority One members are guaranteed a Grand Final ticket when Hawthorn Football Club participates, as long as they register for a ticket during the allocated time. The allocated registration time will be communicated to all members closer to the date. While Priority One members are guaranteed a Grand Final ticket, they are not guaranteed a Premium seat allocation for the Grand Final, regardless of seat throughout the Home & Away season.
Priority Two & Three members are also required to register for a Grand Final ticket when Hawthorn Football Club participates, however they will enter a ballot to determine if they are successful in obtaining a ticket. Members will be required to register in their allocated time, which will be communicated at a later date.     

To be eligible for a Grand Final ticket, you must join as a member prior to 30 June 2009.

1-game (Tassie Armchair), 4-game (Hudson Club, Eade Wing, Pritchard Pocket, Tas General Admission) and 5-game members (Regional, Regional Silver, Interstate) are not eligible to purchase a Grand Final ticket through Hawthorn Football Club Grand Final Registration. This includes all 16-game junior members that are part of a 4-game or 5-game family membership.


Direct Debit Payments (Hawks Direct payment plan)

Payments will be deducted in 11 equal installments on the 1st of each month, beginning on December 1 2008 via a nominated VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Diners Club account.

1.    By signing with the Hawks Direct payment plan, you authorize the Hawthorn Football Club to arrange a transfer of funds from your nominated credit card in amount applicable to your membership type and at intervals as advised in point 3.

2.    Members will be given at least 14 days notice in writing of changes in the new amount of their next season's membership and to the terms of the Hawks Direct payment plan agreement. If you do not wish for your Membership to roll over into the following season, you will be required to opt out in writing.

3.    The first installment will be withdrawn on December 1 2008 with further payments on the 1st of each following month. If any payment fails to transfer between institutions on the 1st, further attempts will be made in the next three (3) working days to attempt to clear the fund transfer.

4.    Members applying for Hawks Direct payment plan after the first scheduled payment will have the total number of lapsed payments deducted upon receipt of application and then subsequent payments at each specified date. Please see table below for more detail.

5.    If your debit is returned or dishonored by your financial institution, a letter will be sent requesting immediate payment. Any fees levied to you by your financial institution will be payable to you. Payments that decline will be recharged with an additional processing fee of $5.00 per default.

6.    The Hawthorn Football Club may suspend or cancel your membership if on two consecutive occasions your drawing is dishonored by your financial institution. We will notify you by letter if we suspend or cancel your Hawks Direct payment plan arrangement.

7.    It is your responsibility to ensure that: (a) the account details you have provide are correct and include notification should the expiry date change within the 11 month program (b) you have sufficient clear funds available in the nominated account, on the scheduled drawing date.

8.    If your membership is suspended or cancelled you will not be able to gain access to games, including finals, at the MCG or Telstra Dome.

9.    If you believe that a withdrawal has been initiated incorrectly, please contact Hawthorn Football Club membership Department on 03 9535 3045. You will receive a full refund of the withdrawal amount if we can not substantiate the reason for the drawing.

Competition
Every month from November 2008 until June 2009 (total of 8 months), a member paying via direct debit will be drawn randomly to win $1000 worth of NEC products.
To be eligible, the member must be financial for that month and not be in arrears for any payments. For example, to be eligible for December draw, your membership must be purchased prior to 1 December 2008.
To be eligible for January; you must not owe any money from December or have purchased membership prior to 1 January 2009.
The winner will be drawn at the end of every month, and notified via phone that they have been successful.


Interstate memberships

Gold Interstate (excluding Tasmania)
Gold Interstate membership (limited to 1000 members and capped at 300 in Western Australia) gives Interstate members the opportunity to purchase a membership that guarantees a Grand Final ticket should Hawthorn compete, as well as a guaranteed ticket to one game in their state as well as guaranteed access to any functions held in their state.
All Interstate Gold members also receive 11-game General Admission as part of their membership package.

Hudson Club Gold
Hudson Club Gold membership (limited to 500 members, Tasmania only) gives Tasmanian members the opportunity to purchase a membership that guarantees a Grand Final ticket should Hawthorn compete, as well as normal Hudson Club benefits - Entry and reserved seating in the Gunns Stand for 4 home games at Aurora Stadium.
All Hudson Club Gold members also receive 11-game General Admission as part of their membership package.

PUMA Gold Football Boots

All junior members who to choose to upgrade their membership to become 'Junior Rioli' members, have the opportunity to purchase PUMA boots for an additional $25.

(a)    Members can choose to have the boots delivered for a cost of $10 or they can pick up from Glenferrie or Waverley Hawks Nest from February 2009.
(b)    There is a size chart displayed at hawthornfc.com.au showing the actual size of the boots.
(c)     Shoe sizing is limited to:

Hawk Headhunter


How to enter
o    Interested members can participate in this year's member get member program by pledging to recruit a number of members  (eg.10 members), registering their details for a 'recruiter kit' to be sent by mail or email:

o    Recruiting member receives an email (if email is supplied) or recruiter kit by mail, thanking them for their support and for agreeing to recruit the number of members pledged.
If the member has opted to receive their recruiter kit online, attached with the email will be an application form, 2009 membership brochure, and information about the promotion. The recruiter can then forward this email with personalized application forms to the friends they plan to recruit.
If the member has opted to receive their kit via mail, they will receive the following in the mailout:
Personalised letter, application forms, brochure.

o    Members can submit tagged applications for new members as part of Hawk HeadHunter to the Club online, via mail, phone or in-person.
After processing, the recruiter's tally will be updated on his/her Hawk Headhunter file.

o    Leader board can be found updated throughout the season on hawthornfc.com.au to track progress

Anyone who participates in recruiting one or more members will go into the draw to win an entertainment package from NEC valued at $2000.  

Definitions
Renewing member - Any member who joined with Hawthorn FC in 2008 is ineligible to be recruited for 2009.
New member - Any member who did not join with Hawthorn FC in 2008, but could have been a member previously in 2007 or years prior.
Family memberships count for each family member as one recruitment. (eg. Family membership of 2 adults and 4 children = 6 members recruited)

Competition closes June 30, 2009.

Conditions
1. Any recruited new member must be submitted by the recruiter, then approved and entered into system by Hawthorn FC staff member before June 30, 2009, to be a valid entry.
2. Prizes fulfilled and sent via mail within a month of achieving the prize level of 1, 5 or 10 recruits
3. Grand Prize announced and contacted on Monday 6 July 2009 - published on hawthornfc.com.au
4. $5,000 Flight Centre voucher fulfilled following announcement and sent registered post or can be collected in person
5. Lunch with Captain, Vice-Captain and Senior Coach to take place at a time advised by the Club.

Membership Promotions

Hawthorn Football Club has the ability to introduce new promotions and offers to members. Any member who has purchased prior to these offers will not be able to request a refund for membership.

My 2009 three game membership

In addition to the information provided in the promotional letter received with your 2009 three-game membership card, as well as information listed on Members Zone, the following are terms and conditions for this specific promotion for 2009 and 2010 membership.

Once payment has been confirmed, your three-game membership card will be activated and you will receive general admission access to the final three games of the 2009 home and away season. Activating the membership card will also activate a 2010 membership through HawksDirect. Your membership will be paid off over 11 months via credit card commencing 1 November, 2009.

Access is subject to capacity and does not include any fulfillment items or 2009 finals benefits.  Selected General Admission memberships are available through this promotion. Should you wish to upgrade your membership in 2010, contact the Membership Department once 2010 memberships are released in early November, 2009.
