Unrestricted free agent Tim O’Brien will depart Hawthorn to join the Western Bulldogs.

In farewelling O’Brien, Head of Football Rob McCartney thanked him for his contribution to the brown and gold. 

“Tim has been a great competitor for us, and we regard him highly as both a player and person,” McCartney said. 

“As an unrestricted free agent, Tim exercised his right to explore the market and we respect his decision.

“We thank Tim for his service at the club and wish him all the best in the next phase of his career.”

Hawks log in big-bodied midfield pair

The 27-year-old departs the Hawks after eight seasons in the brown and gold.

Taken at Pick 28 in the 2012 national draft, O’Brien debuted in Round 1 of 2014 and went on to play 97 games.
