The VFLW Hawks led from start to finish in their big win on the weekend against Darebin, defeating the Falcons by 66 points.

Hawthorn launched into action with an early goal from Jessie Williams, followed by two in a row from Kristy Stratton.

Darebin could not respond to the charging Hawks, and remained scoreless in the first quarter.

After an exciting first quarter came a competitive second, with the ball spending a lot of time in Hawthorn's forward 50, however only minor scores came from both sides after an early goal from Stratton.

The forward line kept getting stronger after half time, with another goal from Williams. The strong back line led by Nicole Garner and Kristen Hay kept Darebin scoreless.

Dom Carbone joined the fun with a beautiful running goal off the ground to bring Hawthorn's lead further out of reach from Darebin's clutches.

The final quarter saw Williams join Stratton with a third goal, and swiftly surpassed her teammate with yet another goal, bringing her total tally to four.

The pair kicked seven of the nine goals of the match.

Lauren Szigeti kicked the final goal of the game to seal the match for the Hawks, joining her powerful teammates on the scoreboard.

Hawthorn dominated the overall disposals (169 Falcons, 305 Hawks), showing their commanding strength.

Playing without captain Tamara Luke, as well as other experienced player Teagan Cunningham, clearly did not shake the girls at all, with the Hawks maintaining control from start to finish.
