The VFLW Hawks continued their winning streak with an enormous 101 point victory over the Western Bulldogs this week.

A great team effort saw the hawks seal a huge win, with a powerful forward line maintaining control of the game from start to finish.

Coach Cherie O’Neill couldn’t be more proud of her girls, here’s her picks for the best-on-ground against the Bulldogs.

Katelyn Cox

“Cox was really good this week, I had a chat with her this week, she’d never played down back before, so it was a new role for her. I really wanted to embrace that and have a bit of fun with it, and she absolutely smashed it, so we’re very happy, kicking efficiency was fantastic.”

Jenna Richardson

“Down the half back, intercept marking is very vital to our game, so really like the way she floats across there. We gave her the last 10 minutes in the forward just to have a bit of fun.”

Dom Carbone

“Down forward she’s just got that small craft, she works up and back, and in and around the footy, and I just love watching her play as a small forward.”

Bridget Deed

“Bridget’s in the middle for us, so it was a really good chance for her to cement a few of our structures, she’s moving up from the NAB league, so it’s just good for her to get those harder hits and see where she’s at, and she did really well today, stepped up.”

Ellie McLinden

“Across the half back flank, stood up for us today, really saw her today. She’s coming out of her shell each week, so really like the way she’s going about her game, so hopefully she keeps poking her head out of her shell and taking the game on.”
