Hawthorn would like to congratulate VFLW players Lauren Szigeti, Aimee Whelan and Montana Beruldsen after the trio signed with the Sydney Swans AFLW side.

Like Hawthorn, Sydney is set to join the AFLW competition in Season Seven, which will kick off in August this year.

Hawthorn recently confirmed the club’s historic first signing when VFLW rising talent Bridget Deed committed to the brown and gold.

Szigeti, Whelan and Beruldsen have all featured in each of the Hawks’ opening five games of the VFLW season.

Hawthorn GM - Operations & Major Projects Josh Vanderloo said the club was pleased to see some of its players take the next step in their careers and achieve their dreams.

“The AFLW competition has already and will continue to provide great opportunity for women footballers around the country and this is certainly the case today with Lauren, Aimee and Montana today,” Vanderloo said.

“These girls have been valued members of Hawthorn and they go with our blessing and best wishes.

“Hawthorn will continue to work closely with the AFL on the logistics of this upcoming AFLW season as we look to best prepare ourselves for our highly anticipated entry into the competition.”
