The VFLW Hawks continued their winning streak on the weekend with a 47-point win against North Melbourne.

Coach Cherie O’Neill encouraged the girls to work for each other this week, and that’s exactly what they did. It was a great team effort, with both new and old taking charge, demonstrating the positive attitudes and behaviours the Hawks foster every week.

Here’s O'Neill's picks for the best-on-ground performers against the Kangaroos.

Dom Carbone

“Dom was really good down forward again, leading the possessions for us, she’s just really solid and reliable, so another great game from her.”

Jordan Mifsud

“She was in the midfield, we’ve had a really big change through our midfield, so her leadership was important through the midfield, and she really stood up today for us.”

Kristy Stratton

“She normally plays forward, so again we’ve thrown her in the middle and just asked her to compete, and did really well, I'm just happy with her game and the way she applied herself.”

Eliza Shannon

“Back off the half-back flank for us again, she’s just very reliable for us in that position, gives us a lot of pace off that backline, reads the ball extremely well.”

Nadia Von Bertouch

“Again off that back line, again aerial work, we could have picked Richo (Jenna Richardson) down the back there also. The backs are really solid for us and they always bring it every week, so very happy.”
