It may have been a rainy day this weekend at Box Hill City Oval, but our Hawks girls had a shining performance to seal their sixth win for the 2022 season.

Here’s coach Cherie O’Neill’s best picks in Hawthorn's Round 7 clash against Carlton.

Tamara Luke

“Tam played a great captain's game, she was our leading tackler at half time and really just stood up in the conditions. It was her first game back and doesn’t she love it."

Bridget Deed

“Bridget had a really good game this week, she really stood up for us. I asked her to just go out there and have a bit of fun this week, so I hope she did.”

Nicole Garner

“Nicole was really good out on the wing, and we used her a fair bit more this week. She just has some really good footy sense. That outside shape - she just creates a really good run off.”

Sarah Cameron

“She was really good down forward for us and created a lot of good leads there. She has been really working hard on her craft, and she stood up for us today.”

Abbey Holmes

“It was Abbey's first game back for a little while, so it was really good to see her out there. She was another one that just created space, listened and applied. She was really aggressive towards the football, which is what we wanted to see.”

Issy Porter

“Issy played on the wing and was really good. She’s been there the last couple of weeks, and done some really good stuff for us. Again that outside shape, when we use that we look really dangerous. It's a bit of reward for effort for her, she’s been really solid for us.”
