Hawthorn is among the top clubs for crowd attendance at home games this year, with the second highest increase across the league.

The club’s home games have averaged 34,405 people in attendance so far this season, which is the sixth best average in the league, and above the competition's average attendance per game which is 31,005.

Reigning premiers Melbourne are leading the league for crowd growth up 37 per cent on their 2019 attendances, with Hawthorn (up 11 per cent) coming in second, while St Kilda (up four per cent) and Carlton (up two per cent) are among the other strong performers.

The Hawks biggest home crowd in 2022 so far came in Round 5 when the club hosted Geelong for its annual Easter Monday clash at the MCG, with 48,030 fans turning out for the clash.

Hawthorn’s General Manager of Consumer Business Jeremy Millard thanked supporters for their strong support in the opening rounds of the season.

“I want to acknowledge all our brown and gold members for turning out and celebrating the return of football,” Millard said.

"It has been fantastic to see members and supporters back at our home games following a difficult two years where they have been restricted of seeing the game live in action.

"To be posting strong numbers and be up on previous crowd attendance figures is testament to the passion and connection our members and fans have towards our club. It gives us great momentum going into the second half of the season."
