SYDNEY will take an unchanged team into Saturday’s Grand Final against Hawthorn at the MCG.

It means key forward Sam Reid has been picked despite being in doubt with a knee injury.

Reid was subbed out of the Preliminary Final win over North Melbourne with the injury but has trained this week in a bid to prove his fitness.

Earlier in the week, the Swans were unsure whether he would be available for selection given it is an issue he has experienced before.

“There is always doubt unless you do the full training session, but at this stage our medical advice is that we expect him to play,” Swans Coach John Longmire said.

But Reid has been named and will take his place alongside a potent Sydney forward line of Lance Franklin, Kurt Tippett and Adam Goodes.

He’s a key player for the Swans, given he has played an important role in being a back-up ruckman of sorts for Mike Pyke.

Playing in that role against the Hawks in Round 18, Reid was valuable in the midfield and particularly around the stoppages with six clearances – the second most of any player on the ground.

He is ranked equal fourth at the Swans for marks taken inside forward 50 and has booted 17 goals for the year.
