The Hawthorn Football Club extends their condolences to the family of former Hawthorn player and life member Ken Hopper, who has passed away at age 93.

After being recruited from Carlton in 1947, Hopper played 66 games in the brown and gold between 1947-1951. A versatile player, Hopper rotated between the forward line, defence and on the ball with ease.

An outstanding clubman, Hopper continued his involvement in football after his playing days were over, serving as President of the Past Players and Officials Association on three occasions (1970-71, 1976-78 and 1983-84.)

Hawthorn players will wear black arm bands in their Round 16 match against GWS as a show of respect to Hopper and his family.
