T.O happy at Hawthorn

O'Brien Re-Signs Tim O'Brien has re-signed, he spoke with HawksTV about his season and the development of Hawthorn's young group.

Tim O’Brien will don the brown and gold until at least the end of 2019, having signed a two-year contract extension.

The versatile forward has cemented his place in Hawthorn’s line up, playing 15 of a possible 21 games in 2017.

Developing into Hawthorn’s newest swingman, O’Brien has shown the ability to perform at both ends of the ground, as well as offering support in the ruck when necessary.

Into his fourth year at the club, the 23-year-old is averaging 10.3 disposals, 1.2 goals and four marks a game – his best season output to date.

Hawthorn Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright says the club is pleased to have the promising youngster locked away for a further two seasons.

“We can see a really promising future for Tim in the brown and gold,” said Wright.

“He’s shown some good signs this season, particularly as a strong marking target up forward and the role he has been as a backup ruckman.

“We’ve got a number of talented youngsters coming through our ranks, Tim included, so we’re excited to watch our list develop and see what we can achieve in the coming years.”
