Dual Premiership player Taylor Duryea has signed a one-year deal with the Hawks keeping him at the club until the end of 2018.

A product of the Murray Bushrangers, Duryea was taken with pick 69 in the 2009 draft and has played predominantly as a defender throughout his career.

The 26 year-old enjoyed a change of scenery this season, taking on a defensive forward role mid-way through 2017.

Hawthorn Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright said the club was thrilled to see Duryea remain in the brown and gold.

“Taylor’s versatility has been a real strength for the team this year, having the option of playing him at both ends of the ground,” Wright said.

“He has matched up against some of the opposition’s best players in 2017 and really embraced the opportunity to play multiple roles.

“He is a great character around the club and we are rapt to see him continue for another season.”
