Liam Shiels has not enjoyed his stint on the sidelines.

After suffering a hamstring injury in Round 2 against North Melbourne, Shiels has since been sidelined.

The 27-year-old’s return is now only a week away but the three-time premiership player has admitted he can’t stand watching on from the sidelines as his teammates do battle.

“It’s tough watching, you feel a bit helpless in a way,” Shiels said.

“You want to get out there and help the boys as much as possible.

“But I’ve just been working on helping the young guys, watching tape with them and helping them as much as possible.”
