Hawthorn has confirmed its 2019 VFLW playing list, re-signing 17 premiership players and welcoming nine new recruits.

The nine additions to the list include AFLW player Talia Radan and three impressive youngsters from the Eastern NAB League in Serena Gibbs, Lauren Mcclelland and Maddison Shaw.

Brooke Struylaart is another exciting new recruit, who has come across to the Hawks after playing at Casey in 2018.

Chantella Perera is one of the 17 premiership players who has re-signed to the Hawks. Perera had a major impact in the 2018 premiership win, being awarded best on ground with 13 touches, four marks and five tackles.

Another premiership player who has returned to the Hawks is Jayde Van Dyk, who comes back having played her debut season in the AFLW for the Blues. Van Dyk was the VFLW 2018 Rising Star and Hawthorn’s VFLW Best and Fairest recipient.

Along with the return of premiership players and the signing of new recruits, the Hawks will also welcome back 10 players who had an impressive 2018 season in the brown and gold, but who narrowly missed out on a premiership medal.

Hawthorn’s premiership defending campaign will kick off this Sunday May 12, when it takes on the NT Thunder at Box Hill City Oval at 11.30am.
