Jonathon Ceglar v Paddy Ryder and Scott Lycett

Ceglar will have his hands full this weekend when he comes up against the ruck/forward combination of Ryder and Lycett.

With Ben McEvoy out for at least a month, Ceglar likely absorb the majority of the ruck-load for the Hawks during that period.

Ceglar will enter this weekend’s match full of confidence having played his best game of the season last week, where he had 26 disposals, including a whopping 15 contested possessions.

Lycett has been a welcome addition to the Power, providing them with a second ruck to work alongside Ryder. The two are also handy up forward kicking 12 goals so far this season between them.

Jaeger O’Meara v Travis Boak

Both midfielders are the leading disposal winners for their respective teams.

The former Port Adelaide captain has averaged a career-high 32 disposals in his nine games in 2019, up 10 disposals on his average last year.

O’Meara is leading possession getter for the Hawks with an average of 27.

The two players match up when it comes to clearances, marks and kicks.

The biggest difference on their stat sheets is in contested possessions where Boak averages four more per game compared to O’Meara.

Liam Shiels v Sam Powell-Pepper

Two hard at it, ball winners going head-to-head.

Both mids had the second most inside 50s for their teams in Round 9, making these two vital when their respective teams are looking to hit up forward targets.

However, there was a huge disparity in disposal efficiency last week - Shiels at 79% compared to Powell-Pepper’s 59%.

If Shiels is entering the forward line with the same efficiency this weekend, the likes of Luke Breust, Paul Puopolo and Mitch Lewis (if fit) certainly won’t be complaining.
