Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Hawks each week exclusive to hawthornfc.com.au.

Last Week

It was a nail biter at the MCG on Saturday night as the Swans finished up with the four points in the Grand Final rematch.

Despite former Hawk Ben McGlynn following him, Sam Mitchell was able to rack up 32 disposals and 117 Fantasy points. One point behind him was Jordan Lewis returning to the side after two weeks out due to his two match suspension. His 116 points came from 31 disposals, six marks and three tackles.

Shouldering the majority of the ruck responsibility, Jonathon Ceglar finished with his highest score of the year with 114 points.

Top 5 Scorers V Sydney Swans

  • 117 – Sam Mitchell (MID, $555,000)
  • 116 – Jordan Lewis (MID, $686,000)
  • 114 – Jonathon Ceglar (RUC, $403,000)
  • 106 – Isaac Smtih (MID, $604,000)
  • 105 – Jack Gunston (FWD, $522,000)

On The Radar

After a week on the sidelines through illness, Isaac Smith came back into the team for his fifth Fantasy ton in a row. He is one of seven players valued at over $600,000.

Luke Hodge is one of these and coaches will be looking to bring him back into their squad after missing the last three weeks through suspension.

For those going for overall ranking, it is best to plan to get your Hawks in after their bye. Hawthorn has the first bye (round 11), so good strategy will have you selecting someone in the brown and gold in round 12.

What’s Coming Up

The Hawks travel to their home-away-from-home in Launceston as they take on the Suns at Aurora Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Last time the two sides met, there was plenty of rain around however that didn’t affect the scoring for some Hawthorn midfielders.

The trio of Hawks over $600K this season were the best in round 15 last year with Issac Smith (135), Luke Hodge (122) and Jordan Lewis (120) all accumulating massive scores. Lewis will be the most popular captain across the competition this weekend.
