Speaking on the win, Dillon said she didn’t expect to be walking out wearing the medal at the end of night.

“It’s pretty surreal, I didn’t really believe that it happened but it feels great,” Dillon said.

“I totally expected Beeso to beat me out, because she's a jet of a player and very deserving.”

Dillon has spent the past three years playing in the brown and gold and even grew up supporting the Hawks.

“They gave me the opportunity to start with, so I'm very thankful for Hawthorn Football Club.

“Everyone has given me so much support."

With the AFLW draft just around the corner, the strong inside mid is unsure whether her dreams of playing at the highest level will be fulfilled, but is hoping for the best.

“It is a goal and it’s been on my agenda for a little bit, so hopefully I can tick that over.

“If not, I'm still happy to come back to Hawks and give that the best shot I can.”
