Hawthorn VFLW is set to resume its 2021 season on the weekend, buoyed by the news of three debutants.

Chelsea Wilson, Sarah Humm and Cadhla Schmidli will all pull on the brown and gold for the first time. 

The trio of newbies will be joined by Dominque Carbone, Grace Mcrae and Izzy Khoury as the six incoming players to the side that will host Geelong at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday.

Alison Drennan, Georgia Bevan, Ashanti Bush and Nadia von Bertouch were all unavailable for the Round 13 clash, the second last game of the home and away season, while Kate Dudley and Sophie Bolding will also miss this weekend.

Box Hill will return to the field for the first time in nearly a month when it takes on Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday.

The Hawks will be hoping to make a hasty return to form, with the competition sitting extremely evenly to this point in the season.

Currently sitting in sixth spot, the Hawks are a matter of percentage outside the top four but are also just one win ahead of the 12th-placed GWS Giants.

Denver Grainger-Barras will continue his comeback from injury with his first official VFL game, while Ned Reeves will also make his return after an ankle injury held him out of the senior side last week.
