Jai Newcombe has continued his stellar form in 2022, earning his fourth MVP of the year following his side’s thrilling upset win over Brisbane.

The 20-year-old was outstanding again with a game-high nine clearances and 12 score involvements, six tackles, 664 metres gained and a goal.

He also collected 27 possessions at 70 per cent efficiency, with his toughness around the contest and clean ball use critical in helping the Hawks to their fourth win of the season.

The youngster has gone from strength to strength since he was drafted by Hawthorn with Pick 2 in the 2021 Mid-season Rookie Draft.

Across the 10 rounds so far this season, Newcombe has averaged 22.5 disposals, 5.1 marks and 4.2 tackles, establishing himself as a key part of Coach Sam Mitchell's midfield.

With less than 20 career games under his belt, this is only just the beginning for the excitement machine.
