Box Hill has secured its third straight win of the season, this time defeating Collingwood by 34 points at Fenjiu Stadium (Box Hill City Oval).

The Hawks' first home game of the season at Fenjiu Stadium showcased a dominant display with strong defensive efforts and offensive pressure.

The opening quarter saw the Hawks get off to a strong start with the momentum going their way.

Tamara Luke was able to take a strong mark inside the goal square and slot the first goal of the game within the opening few minutes.

The Hawks' strong defensive efforts saw strong rebounds out of their back half, keeping the momentum going their way throughout the quarter.

Charlotte Baskaran wrapped up the first term kicking a major to head into the first break with a 12-point lead.

The opening few minutes of the second quarter saw Collingwood surge, resulting in them trapping the ball in their forward half for most of the quarter.

However, a momentum shift late in the quarter saw Baskaran kick her second goal of the game, and the only goal in this quarter.

The Hawks kept Collingwood to two points in this term and led by 18 going into the main break.

The Hawks were able to turn it up a notch and gain back momentum in the third term, with play spending the majority of the time within Box Hill’s forward half.

Tahlia Fellows scored her first goal for Box Hill and the only goal for this quarter.

This saw Box Hill heading into the final term with a lead of 25 points.

A few position changes in the final quarter saw a surge from the Hawks to be able to finish the match strongly.

Caitlin Thorne’s move off the wing and into the forward 50 saw an increase in offensive pressure.

Hayley McLaughlin kicked her first goal in the brown and gold, and the team were able to keep this effort going throughout the majority of this term.

The defensive pressure and offensive surge saw the Hawks seal the deal with their third straight win of the season.

The Hawks are set to face off against Williamstown this Saturday, 11am at Fenjiu Stadium for Round 4.
