A recent part of the 100-year celebrations has been the issue of a reproduction 1925 guernsey. This merino woollen guernsey is unique with a gold ‘V’ both front and back and the ‘HFC’ monogram over the heart. The original guernsey included white felt numbers on the back.
Nick ‘Dutchy’ Holland, the former centre half-forward who was Club Champion in 2000 and the League’s Rising Star in 1995, became the star of the last photoshoot in the Hawks Museum at Waverley, wearing the reproduction guernsey, a collector’s item now available at Hawks Nest or online.
The Hawks Museum is now in the process of being dismantled and packed away for the move to the Kennedy Community Centre. You can expect to see fan favourites such as the Premiership Cabinet, Kennedy Coat and Hall of Fame in the new Hawks Museum as well as a number of new additions such as Coaches Phones and interactive Team Photo and History of the Guernsey displays.
The Hawks Museum has long been supported by the generosity of our Knights of the Museum donors and Glenferrie Gold Life Patrons. You can support the move of the Hawks Museum from Bunjil Bagora to the Kennedy Community Centre with a tax-deductible donation via the Foundation website, or contact the Foundation Team at foundation@hawthornfc.com.au
