Hawthorn has made two changes for its Thursday night blockbuster clash with Collingwood.

Off the back of strong form with Box Hill, Changkuoth Jiath and Luke Breust return to the team in place of injured duo Will Day and Harry Morrison.

The Round 22 game will mark Breust's first AFL appearance since Round 9, while Jiath will play his 15th match for the year after last facing Fremantle in Round 18.

While Day has bone stress in his foot, Morrison reported soreness in his quad following the team's main training session and has subsequently been ruled out of Thursday night's match.

The club expects this to be a short-term injury with Morrison's progress set to be monitored during the week.

Hawthorn Executive General Manager of Football Rob McCartney was pleased to see Jiath and Breust return to the side for Round 22.

"It's great to have a 300-gamer return to the team," McCartney said.

"Luke brings a lot of experience but still an ability to turn a game with his efforts in front of goal.

"Changkuoth has again gone back to the VFL and proven that he's an AFL footballer when he plays at that level.

"I know he'll be excited to be on the big stage at the MCG against the Pies on Thursday."
