Hawthorn and Australian Football Hall of Fame Legend Jason Dunstall is set to be inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

Dunstall, one of just 33 Legends in the Australian Football Hall of Fame and 10 in the Hawthorn Hall of Fame, is set to be inducted as an athlete member by Sport Australia.

The 60-year-old is widely considered to be one of the greatest Hawks in history, having won four premierships, four Peter Crimmins Medals, four All Australian blazers and three Coleman Medals.

Dunstall also won Hawthorn’s goalkicking an astonishing 12 times, finishing his career with 1254 goals (third most in VFL/AFL history) from just 269 games in the brown and gold.

Hawthorn President Andy Gowers congratulated Dunstall on his induction.

“On behalf of everyone at Hawthorn Football Club, I would like to congratulate Jason Dunstall on his induction into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame,” Gowers said.

“Jason is a Legend of the game, and we are all so grateful for the impact he had on our club.

“With an unbelievable resume that includes multiple premierships, All Australians, Coleman Medals and of course, goals, he is one of Hawthorn’s greatest players and truly deserves this coveted accolade to add to his trophy cabinet.”
