Hawthorn has made three changes to its Round 1 side ahead of Sunday's battle with the Western Bulldogs at Mars Stadium.
Young trio Emily Everist, Laura Elliott and Lucy Wales have been selected for their first games of the season, with Wales overcoming a bone stress injury to partner with Tamara Luke in the ruck on Sunday.
Tamara Smith exits the side due to suspension while Tahlia Fellows and Sarah Perkins have been omitted.
Hawthorn General Manager of Football Operations Max Bailey said the inclusions of Wales, Everist and Elliott would give the side a boost.
"We're really looking forward to seeing Lucy, Emily and Laura play their first games of the season on Sunday," Bailey said.
"Lucy has had to deal with a fair bit lately. Seeing her work through her rehab and then return to full training has been inspiring, and we can't wait to see her complement Tamara Luke in the ruck.
"With longer quarters now in play for AFLW, we're excited to see Emily go to work and use her endurance to give us extra run and carry on Sunday.
"With Laura, we know how composed and clean she is with the ball so it will be a great opportunity for her to put those skills to use at Mars Stadium.
"Overall, we're excited to travel to Ballarat, connect with their footy-loving community and put on a great show."
Both the Hawks and Bulldogs will be in search of their first wins of the season on Sunday after the Hawks went down to the Bombers by 19 points and the Dogs suffered defeat against Geelong by 48 points in Round 1.
