Not only was Hawthorn Vice Captain Isaac Smith judged best afield in the Hawks' Round 6 win over St Kilda, but he also inserted his name into the 'Goal of the Year' conversation in the process.

Smith booted four goals in the Hawks' 35-point victory, with his final major the standout of the night.

The 29-year-old burst through the centre, ran towards the arc and unleashed from just outside 50. With a single bounce on the line, the ball went straight through the middle of the sticks.

He is up against GWS' Ryan Griffen and Collingwood's Adam Treloar as the Round 6 nominees for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year.
