HAWTHORN forward Sam Grimley claimed his second consecutive Frosty Miller Medal - for being the VFL's leading goalkicker - at the JJ Liston Trophy count on Monday night.
Grimley kicked 42 goals for the season, and won the award alongside Port Melbourne's Jordan Lisle and Richmond's Liam McBean, who also finished the home-and-away season with 42 goals.
"It's obviously a good achievement to be the leading goalkicker of any side," he told HawksTV.
"(With) the supply of some great midfielders both at Hawthorn and Box Hill... (I was able to hit the scoreboard) alongside other forwards in Tim O'Brien and Shem Tatupu.
"It's been a good season and (I'm) looking forward to a prelim final in two weeks."
Hawthorn midfielder Jonathan Simpkin was just two votes shy of winning the JJ Liston Trophy for the VFL's best and fairest player.
Simpkin finished with 13 votes, two behind winner Nick Rippon from North Ballarat. Four players were tied in second on 14 votes.
Box Hill-listed Sam Iles collected 11 votes, while Hawthorn's Alex Woodward - who won the JJ Liston Trophy last year - finished with 10 votes, despite missing the second half of the season with a knee injury.
Box Hill captain David Mirra was named as captain of the VFL's Team of the Year.
Grimley said the Hawks focus was now on preparing for their preliminary final in a fortnight's time, against the winner of this week's semi-final between Sandringham and Collingwood.
"I think we stepped up last week (against Footscray)... so we just need to bring that intensity on game day," Grimley said.
"All the boys are really exicted - especially some of the young boys, it's their first year and theuy haven't played a VFL final or prelim final before - so we're all looking for ward to the opportunity."
