Conor Nash’s start to the season was delayed after enduring a spate of hamstring troubles.

Yet the 19-year old was able to return for the second half of the year to play 10 games for Box Hill.

Nash averaged eight disposals, three marks and two tackles for the Hawthorn affiliate side this year.

Having impressed recruiters initially with his athleticism, the 197cm Irishman played the majority of his time in defence.

Nash will continue to hone his understanding of the game over this coming preseason.

A word from: Brett Ratten

“Conor had some hamstring issues earlier in the year, but since then he has played predominantly back for Box Hill. He also kicked two goals when going forward in the last home and away game of the VFL season.

“He is one player that has enormous running ability for his size. He can really cover the ground and get around very quickly as a big lad.

“He is learning the game and we saw his understanding of the game improve this year.

“As we’ve seen with a lot of the Irish boys before, they can kick the ball well. He is another that has a nice feel with his feet and he can use the ball really well. His biggest growth area will come in his ability to understand the game going forward.”
