All at Hawthorn Football Club send their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dulcie Kennedy, who has passed away today at the age of 87.

Kennedy, the wife of Hawthorn Legend John Kennedy Snr, was a committed Hawthorn supporter who held the role of number one female ticket holder for three years between 2014-2016.

The Kennedy family is synonymous with Hawthorn and is an integral part of the fabric of the football club.

Dulcie was a key figure of the Kennedy family and a constant figure of support, strength and positivity.

Her contribution to the Hawthorn Football Club was unwavering and invaluable and she will be sorely missed.

Hawthorn Interim CEO Tim Silvers extended the club’s deepest sympathies to John and the entire Kennedy family.

“The Board of Directors, management, staff and players of Hawthorn Football Club wish to extend their sincerest condolences to John Snr and children Maureen, John Jnr, Bernard, Patrick, and their extended family and friends at this sad time,” Silvers said.

“Dulcie touched the lives of so many people at Hawthorn and her friendly nature and kind heart made her a joy to be around.
“The impact of the Kennedy family on our football club will be eternal and Dulcie’s legacy will always live on at Hawthorn.”
