Hawthorn Captain Luke Hodge says the Club won't be taking St Kilda lightly this Sunday despite the Saints playing tonight and only having a five-day break.

“With the blokes they’ve got at the club… Riewoldt, Goddard, Dal Santo, Montagna, you can never write-off St Kilda,” he said.

Impressed with the debuts of new recruits Isaac Smith and Paul Puopolo in the Hawks' win over Port Adelaide on Friday night, Hodge believes fans will see more young players in the senior side during the season.

“If the young fellas come in and play their role, they’ll stay in the side,” he said.

“I think the best part about our footy club is the young guys coming through.

“We debuted two young guys in Puopolo and Smith and we’ve got (Liam) Shiels playing well.

“Our young guys are doing a good job. They’re going to have very bright futures here.”

Hodge also touched on his recovery efforts and posted updates on the injuries of Cyril Rioli and David Hale.
