FOR THE second time in three weeks Hawthorn Vice-captain Jordan Lewis has been voted best on ground by the coaches.

After an outstanding performance in the crucial win over Sydney in Round 18, Lewis has claimed the maximum 10 votes from Alastair Clarkson and Paul Roos again in Round 20.

Lewis has polled 23 votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award in the last three weeks, polling 10 against Sydney, three against the Bulldogs and another 10 in the win over Melbourne on Saturday.

Continuing his outstanding form this year, Lewis led Hawthorn’s midfield with a game-high 34 disposals and a game-high eight clearances.

Importantly, he also laid the second-most tackles of any player on the ground with seven - the most of any Hawk.

After another five-goal haul Jarryd Roughead was deemed the second-most influential player on the ground.

The Hawks spearhead was awarded eight votes – four from each coach – as he towered over his Melbourne opponents and was easily the most damaging and dangerous forward on the ground.

Roughead claimed the outright lead in the Coleman Medal thanks to his five goals after kicking six against the Bulldogs the week before.

Midfielder Liam Shiels continued his impressive form with another six votes after receiving seven in the win over the Bulldogs last week.

Shiels has worked into some impressive form, transforming himself into another attacking weapon for the Hawks through the midfield.

Often tasked with stopping a gun opposition midfielder, Shiels spent some time on Melbourne’s Nathan Jones but he inflicted most of his damage with ball in hand.

The premiership midfielder finished with 28 disposals, seven inside 50s, five clearances and a goal in the win.

Sam Mitchell also polled two votes for his 30-disposal and five clearances, while Ben Stratton continues to re-capture the form that made him a valuable asset in defence last year with one vote.

Stratton has polled votes in his last two games.

Melbourne midfielder Dom Tyson was the only Demon to poll in his side’s 50-point loss.

Tyson had a team-high 30 touches, six clearances, six inside 50s and kicked a goal on Saturday.
