PLAYING his 100th game for Hawthorn, forward Luke Breust has bagged three goals to help his side post a 53-point win over Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.

Together with the return from suspension of captain Luke Hodge, who kicked two goals, it was a comfortable 14.9 (93) to 6.4 (40) victory for the Hawks at Launceston's Aurora Stadium.

The skipper finished with 30 disposals and six clearances, making a determined return for the brown and gold.

Forward David Hale was a standout for the reigning AFL premiers, featuring in the free-flowing play and finding the goals three times.

The result takes the Hawks to five wins and four losses for the season while the lowly placed Suns have just one victory so far for 2015.

The Hawks went to the main break with a 14-point margin, but hadn't truly shaken the Suns who, despite their injury depleted lineup, stuck with the premiers through the first half.

Suns forward Tom Lynch produced two second-term goals and was the side's top goal-scorer.

Former Hawk Mitch Hallahan notched up 30 disposals against his old club and Michael Rischitelli finished with 23.

Jack Martin's return from a three-round absence due to an ankle injury was short-lived as the half-forward was subbed off within the opening three minutes of play suffering a suspected hamstring complaint.

It's more bad news for the Suns who on Saturday were already without key players including Gary Ablett (shoulder), David Swallow (knee) and Dion Prestia (knee).
