Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Hawks each week exclusive to hawthornfc.com.au.

Last week

The Hawks enjoyed a big win against North Melbourne in round five and Jack Gunston topped all scorers in the game with 138. The forward kicked four goals to go with his 23 disposals and 13 marks to record his best numbers for the year.

North Melbourne haven’t let a lot of Fantasy points through so far this year, but ten Hawks were able to score over 80, including a massive 125 from the in-form Isaac Smith who is averaging 131 in his last three games.

Top 5 scorers v North Melbourne

1.     138 – Jack Gunston (FWD, $481,000)

2.     130 – Sam Mitchell (MID, $518,000)

3.     125 – Isaac Smith (MID, $565,000)

4.     117 – Jordan Lewis (MID, $695,000)

5.     103 – Luke Hodge (DEF/MID, $600,000)

On the radar

Brendon Whitecross was a late inclusion for Paul Puopolo and started in the green vest. He was on in the last quarter and finished with an impressive 34 points. He remains very cheap at $269,000 and as soon as he can cement his spot in the 21 (not as a substitute), he is almost a must-have in our backline.

What's coming up

Last time the Hawks played the Giants, Isaac Smith top scored with 115.

Hawthorn will be going into round six without Jordan Lewis through suspension and possibly Luke Hodge, pending the tribunal decision. Unless you are confident in a bench player covering the stars over the next couple of weeks, I would suggest to trade them.

Lewis down to Smith could be a good idea based on his form and low breakeven of 56. Hodge to either Grant Birchall or Matthew Suckling might be a good call as well with GWS and Melbourne in the next two games.
