Nominations for Director positions will open from Monday 21 September.
Our 2026 Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 16 December at the Kennedy Community Centre, Dingley Village. In accordance with our governance model, Board positions open for election each year under our staggered director rotation system, which encompasses three-year terms and a maximum tenure of nine years. This year, Tristan Sternson will be seeking a permanent position on the Board after filling a casual vacancy earlier in the year. Incumbent Directors Owen Wilson and Luke McCabe will be seeking re-election for further three-year terms, and Maria Lui, who stood down for personal reasons in June 2026, has created a vacancy on the Board.
Members wishing to submit a nomination or make an enquiry regarding a Director position can request a nomination form or information on the process by emailing ceo@hawthornfc.com.au from Monday 21 September 2026. Nomination forms must be submitted via the ceo@hawthornfc.com.au email by the nominations close date on 5.00pm Friday 16 October 2026.
To ensure the Board maintains the required balance of skills and expertise, our Nominations Committee, chaired by Vice President Katie Hudson, will review all applications and recommend candidates for Board endorsement. The 2026 Nominations Committee comprises two Director representatives:
Katie Hudson (Chair) (Vice President)
Ian Silk (Director)
And four independent members:
Lucinda Nolan – Non-executive director, former CEO Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
Merryl Dooley – Chief People Officer, Bega Group
Chris Langford – Former AFL Commissioner & HFC Hall of Famer, CEO Newmark Capital
Jordan Lewis – Commentator, Businessman, and former Hawthorn premiership player
The Board will consider the recommendations of the Nominations Committee and inform members of its endorsed candidates ahead of the voting period, which will be held (if required) between Monday 30 November and Monday 14 December 2026.
