The orange juice was on ice, the roses had been delivered and the infamoustuxedo-footy shorts combo was neatly pressed when two of the country’s most talked about men sat down at Waverley Park this afternoon.

The roles were well and truly reversed for The Bachelor, Sam Wood, when he went one-on-one with Matt Spangher, the host of HawksTV’s number one program, Speed Dating with Spangher.

The men had just fifteen minutes to work out if their bromance had a future, with Spangher given the difficult task of deciding if The Bachelor was worthy of his plastic red rose.

Originally from Tasmania, Bachelor Sam is an avid Hawk’s fan and seemed quite taken with Spangher from the get-go. There were even suggestions that he could offer the injured defender the infamous white rose (look out Sarah).

Spangher however had his reservations about Bachelor Sam and confronted him about the rumour that he had been getting around with the number 19 on the back of his jumper — a potential deal breaker considering his bromance with the number 27 was only in its infancy.

With the Speed Dating with Spangher: The Bachelor edition not set to air until next Wednesday, Bachelor Sam and Matt Spangher have the difficult task of keeping the outcome of their bro-date under wraps.

In the meantime Bachelor Sam will be back on our screens Wednesday night at 7.30pm on Channel 10, with the rose-giving duties once again in his hands.

Whilst he was tight-lipped about which of Australia’s most eligible Bachelorettes has stolen his heart, Sam will have to be sure to choose a Hawks supporter if he wants a rose from Matt Spangher.
