HAWTHORN has recruited midfielder Kieran Lovell with pick 22 in the 2015 NAB AFL draft.
The 174-centimetre ball-winner enjoyed a standout season, winning the Tasmanian MVP and All-Australian Under-18 honours after impressive performances in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.
With good speed, elite endurance and the ability to win the ball overhead in one-on-one contests, Lovell looms as a hard-to-stop onballer.
He averaged 35 possessions (14 contested) and 5.5 clearances during the underage championships, proving an ability to win the ball at stoppages and provide outside run.
Lovell won the agility test at the draft combine with a time of 7.9 seconds, and also finished top 10 in the goalkicking test and beep test.
