IT’S official.

Hawthorn’s three-peat premierships cups will head to Mildura as part of this year’s Premiership Cup Tour.

The cups have travelled to Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin and Tasmania, and touch back down in Melbourne at Waverley Park this weekend.

But one final stop has been added onto this year’s tour.

Mildura resident Troy Dunne has won his town the opportunity to host the cups, after submitting the winning video in the club’s Cups To Country competition.

The 2013, 2014 and 2015 premiership cups will now visit Mildura on Saturday 19 December.

Mr Dunne, a passionate Hawks supporter, filmed an interview with Mildura Rural City Council mayor Glenn Milne beside the Murray River.

In the video, Cr Milne said getting the cups to his region would be a massive coup.

“We’ve got plenty of Hawks fans up here, and I reckon they’d be ecstatic,” he said.

“We’re about as far away from Melbourne as you can get in Victoria, and I guess there’s a lot of people who don’t get a chance to see the AFL cup.”

A number of AFL footballers – including former Hawks – hail from Mildura and surrounding towns, including former captain and 145-game Hawk Richie Vandenberg.

The Cups To Country competition opened on October 30 and closed on November 27, giving Hawks fans across the country the chance to bring their cups to their home town.
