REIGNING premier Hawthorn is determined to stay ahead of the rest of the competition heading in the 2016 pre-season, with its sights set on achieving even bigger and better things according to Vice-Captain Jordan Lewis.

Speaking at the launch of the club’s new partnership with luxury car brand, Audi, Lewis dismissed any notion that the Hawks could rest on their laurels after joining an illustrious and exclusive group of teams to have won three successive flags.

“Certainly we’re not sitting back and being complacent, we obviously want to strive for bigger and better things next year, so what is done is in the past at the moment," he said.

“We’ve got to keep improving, there’s obviously clubs that will step up and challenge us, but we’ve proved time and time again that we welcome challenges and we actually enjoy certain challenges throughout the season.

"It’s a motivated group, we haven’t lost too many players, we’re still fit and able and while we’re fit and able, we’re there to challenge."

The Hawks will head north to Mooloolaba for their pre-season camp on Friday until December 20, as they tackle the Queensland heat in preparation for their quest for an historic fourth-straight flag.

“Mooloolaba will be good, it’ll be a little bit hotter than it is down here, the humidity certainly steps up a little bit but that’s where we really start our assault on next year and really prepare ourselves for the season," Lewis said.

“Usually you come here and train and then go off in your own separate ways but it’s really a good ten days to bond with everyone and understand the new kids can settle in as well.”

Hawthorn’s preseason camp in Mooloolaba begins on December 11.
